Vacation Day

Well, I picked a fine day for a vacation day, thank you Tropical Storm Fay (or is it a hurricane now?). I made a dog bed today to replace a yucky one - I'm getting good at sewing straight lines!
The dawgs approve.
I picked up my textbooks yesterday for The Environmental Crisis in its Cultural Context so I'd have something to read while it's storming outside. It's a fancy title for the beginning Environmental Studies class at Rollins.

box and mobile v2.0

Here is bird mobile number two in progress, and felt box number two. Today I'm working on a little bit of everything, in addition to the mobile: some greeting cards, some card donations for my Etsy Team and our charities, and maybe I'll take a crack at what I want to put on the T-shirts that have been sitting in my project closet for month and do another felt box. Oh and I went for a bike ride, mowed the lawn and gave the cat a bath.

Etsy for Animals

I recently joined the EFA Team on Etsy. I've been on Etsy since December, and finally joined a Team! What is EFA? EFA stands for Etsy for Animals. Its a wonderful team of artists that are all for the animals. Whether donating part of their sales to a charity, advertising or donating to the Etsy For Animals Shop where 100% net proceeds go to the animal charity of the month, or being advocates for animal rights, theres a place here for every animal lover. Its also very fun! Every month there are challenges and projects you can participate in, and we have an active voice in the forums, just type efa into search to find us! There is literally something for everyone! You can find all the info you need at the EFA Blog. (Thanks to CrazyHappy for that explanation)
At my Etsy store GingerCardCo, at least 15% of sales (which are few and far between, but hopefully not for much longer!) now go to the SPCA/Humane Society of Central FL, where I found 2 of my darling dawgs.

Felt Box v1.0

At Julie's request, here is my first attempt at a felt box. It is 3.5 inches across and 2.5 tall. I think it's even cuter than the commercially made Valentine-y one that we got the idea from (thanks Loreen!) It was a little more challenging than I thought it would be, but v2.0 should be a piece of cake. The question is, would someone buy a felt box, and what would they put in it that wouldn't snag it?

The Mobile Project

Well, I'm trying something totally different, and it seems to be going well so far. It's not exactly a traditional mobile, but that's okay. I'll do one of those next. I wasn't sure that I'd have anything to contribute to the baby themed vignette at the co-op, but here it is. Not that I've started working with felt there are so many different things I'm trying. Here it is at the beginning and half way.
